Paul Weller @ Demontfort hall Leicester 19/05/08

The Modfather now in his 50's was back at the Demont after a few years away, tickets sold out in less than a few days, so the place was full to capacity. Paul and his band came on and announced he was going to play some new tracks as well as some old. He played quite a lot of his new songs first which took the crowd time to get into but as Paul said these song are f...ing good and who would argue.

His band were really excellent musicians especially the drummer and played for two hours solid. The De mont lit up for his classic songs, 'you do something to me' and especially the Jams 'eton rifles' and they had time at the end to do a Beatles cover 'all you need is love'.

Being a musician myself i know that you really want to play new material ands after 20 years playing certain songs it's understandable to want to change your set but from a fan's perspective i would have loved to have heard a few more of the old stuff Paul.
